With the advent of an aged society and declining birth rate, effective and fair-minded distribution of welfare resources has become increasingly indispensable. In this context, it is valid to formulate appropriate policies for comprehending the surrounding environment and organization in communities to perform distribution of resources.
Under these circumstances, students in the Department of Social Policy acquire basic knowledge of social welfare, which is becoming important for an increasing number of people. Based on its 50-year experience in social welfare education, the department trains students to be community social workers with problem-solving skills, who continue to be aware of welfare issues at the local government and community level, particularly competent people who are conscious of welfare issues and capable of contributing to public- and private-sector organizations with a focus on medical and educational organizations.
