International Exchange and Study Abroad

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our international exchange program.
As a pioneer among private universities in Hokkaido, Hokusei Gakuen University provides programs to cultivate individuals who are able to spread their wings and fly, flourishing in the global community.

Our university’s international exchange program began with the establishment of a sister-school affiliation with Lewis & Clark College (Oregon, U.S.A.) in 1965. In 2015, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our international exchange program, the cumulative number of students sent abroad from Hokusei to date is 657 while the number of international students learning here is 1,275. In the fall of 2015, we plan to open a new lounge for international exchange to further build a global community on campus and to embark on the development of even better international programs.
