The objective of this department is to nurture specialists who have high English proficiency and intercultural awareness, and who can serve as a bridge between nations.
During the first two years students are trained by experienced multinational faculty in oral English, reading, composition, etc. From the second year on students can take practical courses such as English-Japanese interpreting and translation public speaking and others.
The upper division consists of three courses. In the Language & Culture course, students study British and American culture and literature using various English textbooks. In the Language & Communication course, students conduct research on the English language, TEFL, interpersonal communication, as well as intercultural and international communications. In the Global Studies course, students aim to obtain knowledge, thinking power and digital communication skills from a global perspective.
