
The objective of this department is to nurture specialists who have high English proficiency and intercultural awareness, and who can serve as a bridge between nations.
During the first two years students are trained by experienced multinational faculty in oral English, reading, composition, etc. From the second year on students can take practical courses such as English-Japanese interpreting and translation public speaking and others.
The upper division consists of two courses of study. In the Language & Culture course, students study British and American culture and literature through various texts written in English. In the Language & Communication course, students do research in the English language, TEFL, and communication ranging from interpersonal to intercultural & international communication.
※General English Ⅰ to Ⅳ aren't offered by the Department of English.
